AGM :  2016

This NOTICE is for PARENTS as well as club officials.

​The Club's AGM will be held at The FAIRMILE SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB
(The Morning Star Pub) in Papist Way on
​

​TUESDAY 26th July 2016, starting at 8:30pm.

As well as all officials and managers being present, parents are also very welcome to attend, especially if you wish to see and hear how the Club is run, with a possible view of becoming more involved during the coming season.

​As Glenn Hawkins (our Chairman) noted in his statement delivered by Dave Evans at the Presentation Evening, 

"However, I do have a major concern about the club’s future.  At the moment, I am the Chairman and do not have any children playing for our club.  Also, our wonderful secretary Karen, our great treasurer Chris, our vice-Chairman and U10’s manager Dave Miners, and our U12’s coach, chief fundraiser and website manager Dave Evans, have no children playing for Cholsey Bluebirds. 
All our effort is voluntary and we really enjoy doing it.  However, in the longer term we need people whose children play for the club to come forward and either help to manage teams, take training sessions or help with the behind-the scenes management of the club.  The time required is less than you may think and the rewards are more than you would think.  The club will also pay for any football coaching or first-aid qualifications that you would like to get.  
We have a great little club that provides so much enjoyment for over 100 young footballers.  So please come forward, find out how the club works, and help it move into the 2nd 50 years of its life."   Glenn Hawkins


As well as the usual AGM agenda items (Reports & Elections - we get through these very quickly), there will be plenty of opportunity under "AOB" to ask questions and offer suggestions in relation to: team arrangements; planning; our Tournament; running the Tuck Shop; pitch upkeep; improving our Pavilion; etc.
Parents' opinions and ideas are always welcomed and valued.


One of the main items under AOB will be suggestions, decisions and probably the provisional appointment of a sub-committee, to plan events & activities for our GOLDEN JUBILEE YEAR - 2017, having been founded in 1967 - long before most of you were born !
With the present officials and managers very much involved with the everyday running of the Club, this will be a wonderful opportunity for parents to use their non-footballing talents for the benefit of the club as a whole and for the enjoyment of every individual associated with it. It might even be possible to organise an event that would encompass the whole village in our Anniversary Celebration.

We look forward to welcoming as many parents as possible - Glenn might even buy you a drink ! Well, the first 10 anyway.
