Summary of 2019/20 Season as U8s
The season started well for the U8s as they gained promotion into the B league. All the hard efforts the season before had paid off. We started off well with three consecutive wins beating local rivals Didcot town 4-1, Hanney 8-0 and Florence park 3-2.
However, the good times where not to last as we discovered how tough the B league really is, we lost the next 4 games only missing out on a piece of the points by the odd goal. Confidence was knocked and we were not used to losing. We realised our weaknesses and the team worked hard on this in training.
Winter Trophy was the next event on the calendar, we had a fantastic first round of games winning 3 and drawing 1 which placed us into the main trophy event the following week. The second week we found ourselves up against A league teams and although the boys gave it their all we did not manage to make the finals.
The second half of the season we continued to face tough opposition and it was not until the third game we found ourselves winning again 4-0 against Botley boys. We finished the winter league with 2 draws and a win.
Spring trophy was the final fixture and after a long spell of no games due to bad weather the boys where keen to get back out. We lost 2 and won 2 and unfortunately, we never got the second leg of games as all games where postponed due to Covid-19.
I think its safe to say we had a very mixed bag of results for our fist season in the B league but did ourselves proud and enough not to be relegated! Lessons learnt and a lot to take forward into next season. The boys worked hard, scored some fantastic goals and the goalies produced some spectacular saves. The team have continued to work hard and have achieved so much in the last two seasons.

PS. Laura has now retired from management to concentrate on her family - WHAT A GREAT 2 YEARS she's had - WELL DONE. Her able assistant, SIMON POWIS, will be moving up to full management duties for next season.

Summary of 2018/19 Season as U7s
The season kicked off with a 2-0 loss for the newly formed U7s team, however the second game we found our feet and won the next two matches scoring 14 goals! Unfortunately, we lost our last game, but the team were making big strides and starting to understand the game and confidence was growing.
We then took part in our first tournament at the Oxford City 3G pitches and made it to the semi-finals before being knocked out by Florence Park! The winter league came next and the boys continued to put on a great performance winning the first game 8-1. However, we knew the next match was going to be tough as we faced Florence Park again.
After a very exciting 30 minutes we narrowly lost 3-2. The team went on to complete the league with a loss, draw and 5 consecutive wins bagging 101 goals this season in league and cup.
The team competed in the Cup competition and made it to the final where they faced Florence Park again! The team started off the stronger side and scored the first goal, however Florence Park managed to claw 2 goals back with the final score 2-1. The boys put in a great team performance and were very happy with their runners up trophies.
The boys have currently taken part in four tournaments, winning the fair play award at Stonesfield and Harwell & Hendred and, I am pleased to report, that in our own Tournament we played Florence Park and beat them 2-1! A well-deserved win finally.
It has been a fantastic first season with amazing saves, corners, tackles and goals. Thank you to the boys for their hard work and commitment, the parents for their support and our kit sponsor Jolly Electrical.
