RISING STARS
Training with our youngest footballers was going really well until early March, when the coronavirus outbreak forced us to stop our regular Saturday morning sessions.
Attendance levels were consistently high and the effort and behaviour from the children involved was really good. Most pleasingly, each boy and girl was making progress with skills such as movement, ballcontrol and passing and all the children were enjoying the training sessions. Since March, assorted parents and children have informed me that the football practice has continued in their own back gardens, bedrooms, kitchens and hallways - and more recently in local parks. This has been great to hear.
Training for these youngsters only happens because adults make an effort each Saturday morning to bring their children along. I would like to thank all the adults for the effort they have made this season and also commend them for the positive and friendly way they conducted themselves each weekend. In particular, the help provided by assorted adults with specific training exercises was of great benefit to the trainees.
The older children will move up to form an U7s team next year which will be run by Gareth Barefield and Warren Ainsworth.
The youngsters will remain as Rising Stars for a further year. Our intention is to start training again on Saturday 5th September and we are looking for new 4 and 5 year-olds to join in with us. If you have a child that is interested in taking part, please contact me: glenn@clearconstruction.co.uk
